My moments in time....

Created by Andy 6 years ago

I'm Andy and following and on from Mark's theme I was the 2nd Son-in-law (well for a period of time) and whilst Emma and I divorced, we did between us produce the most amazing daughter Molly, and whilst not part of the family anymore, I did still get to hear all of the funny stories, see the great family holiday photos and hear her speak about Eric in the most caring, adorable and loving way.

For my own part there are a few very special moments of my time with the family, including the very first time I met Eric who opened the front door of their house in Camberley. When I came to take Emma out - his presence was awe inspiring and as this hulk of a man stood filling the door frame, knowing I was there to see Emma he still asked me who I was and what I wanted….I managed to blurt out why I was there ending what I was saying by calling him "Sir" this gave him a little smile I'm sure.

I will always hold dear was how immensely proud of his cars he had driven - I remember being so impressed when he took myself and Lockie for a test drive in his brand new Jaguar, going around Ravenswood roundabout again and again. But the best part was actually being allowed to drive the car on the road - thanks Eric.

Hearing the words to Michael Jackson's song Bad even to this day never fails to give me a rhy smile and take me back to that evening in the back garden of Calvin Close.

Eric was a very special man, he was humble and caring and whilst a giant in stature, in business and his lighting ability at mental arithmetic - he was a gentle, kind and a caring man, who loved to laugh and be surrounded by his family all of whom loved him to the moon and back.

I will miss you Pops

Lots of love Andy
